Eastbourne Holiday Guide

Eastbourne has proudly launched the 2008 Holiday Guide - with the town's award winning beaches dominating the front cover.

With a striking shot of the sun setting, the cover captures all that is good about the historic town, clean beaches, warm seas, spectacular cliff edges and green downland. No longer the retirement resort, Eastbourne continues its ‘Change Your View' campaign and proudly offers a range of entertainment, events and activities for all age groups in the 2008 holiday guide. Walking, cycling, sailing, fishing, swimming, sports biking, horse riding, rowing, golf, hang gliding, windsurfing, spas and children's entertainment are just some of the activities featured.

Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said "The 2008 brochure is the best yet and I am pleased that we have chosen such a strong image on the cover. This great town has so much to offer visitors, be it the outstanding natural beauty of Beachy Head, record sunshine days, warms seas, a modern harbour or varied shopping centres."

Eastbourne also entertains, with its four theatres which have hosted some of the UK's funniest comedians, fantastic West End shows and world famous bands. The historic bandstand has seen record attendances during 2007 and there is a packed programme for 2008. The forthcoming year will also see the usual varied, exciting events programme: Airbourne, LTA International Women's Open tennis tournament, Go Fast Speed Days, Magnificent Motors, Extreme, Beer Festival, Victorian festival, the list could go on and on and it will in 2008!

A new section of the brochure, ‘Go on, spoil yourself...' offers inspiring ways to relax and be pampered away from home. Research shows that Eastbourne has many loyal visitors who return year on year and Eastbourne Borough Council has expanded the guide for 2008, confident that the spa spread will offer new and fresh ideas for a stay in Eastbourne. Featuring the aptly named Pebbles Leisure Club at the Cavendish Spa and with hot stone therapies available at the town's several beauty salons; Eastbourne's pebble beaches are at the forefront of the seaside resort in 2008.

Cllr Wallis adds "The brochure includes a wide range of fantastic accommodation options at more than 100 establishments. Eastbourne also has a great number of restaurants to suit all tastes and with a vibrant night life you really cannot go wrong in Eastbourne. I am sure the town's 4 million plus visitors during 2007 would support this."

Eastbourne Tourist information Centre is already handling enquiries for the new guide and brochure requests via the Visit Eastbourne website are up on last year.
