Win a Lush Speed Days Skateboard
9 October 2008

Budding Eastbourne skateboarders and extreme sports fans are being given the chance to win a Lush Longboards skateboard just like the ones used at Go Fast! Speed Days last month.
Eastbourne Borough Council have teamed up with Loco Skates in Station Parade to launch the competition and give Eastbourne residents the chance to win a top quality skateboard as used by some of the world's top gravity sportsmen.
Go Fast! Speed Days took place at Beachy Head earlier this year and saw Scott Smith, Pete Connolly and Christopher Sanne scoop first, second and third in the UK leg of the World Downhill Skateboarding Championships.
Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said "I am really excited to launch this new competition and get the chance to engage with extreme sports fans in Eastbourne. It's great to be working in partnership with Loco Skates to offer avid skaters in the town the chance to win a first class piece of equipment and we hope to continue delivering events that attract interest from residents as well as visitors to the resort."
With a beautiful coastline and picturesque countryside, with waves, hills, and grassland, Eastbourne lends itself well to extreme sports and offers top locations for sporting events, with Eastbourne Extreme and Speed Days now regular calendar events.
By offering this competition to local residents, the Council hopes to build stronger links with young people in Eastbourne and reinforce the vast range of events they can find on their doorsteps.
With this year's event attracting significant media interest, sports fans are in with the chance of winning a skateboard just like the one that Blue Peter's Helen Skelton used when she tried her hand at downhill skateboarding in Eastbourne.
Entering the competition couldn't be easier. Anyone interested in winning the skateboard just needs to put their name, address, contact number and e-mail address onto a postcard and drop it into Loco Skates, 10 Station Parade, Eastbourne before 30 November.
